Managing Director, Nick Phelps has 24 years experience in the product development industry and is well placed to lead the group.

Nick took control of AMI (which specialised in model making), from his father in 1994. AMI, previously Phelps Models was established in 1953.

Through various collaborative projects AMI formed an ongoing relationship with a company called Benchmark. An opportunity arose to acquire Benchmark and Nick could see the logic in running the two facilities in parallel. This enabled each sector to feed off each other’s resources enabling them to strengthen within their own sectors of model making.

With Nick’s foresight the Curvature Group has been able to grow adding new working divisions such as Morpheus (speciliasing in creative form development), Benchmark Too (large scale CNC pattern and mould tool manufacture), and finally the acquisition of Space Models, (a competitor of some 50 years), that now complete, and trade under the umbrella of the Curvature Group.
